Well written. But I should point out that only minority of those opposed to H1-Bs, and likely a tiny minority at that, are 'white nationalists', I've met a whole bunch of people of the years opposed to this program, many of those opposed are not white at all, and of those who are, they are not opposed to because of anything that could be called white nationalism

Over blown drama. And no one is going to divide over it.

The reasonable path forward is maintenance of the H1B…as we move towards a revamped US educational system capable of providing us with the trained people we need. America is creativity and competition. In education and industry. And both sides claim merit is king. Let it be so.

The BIG problem is that we DO NOT have properly educated candidates graduating our universities and colleges. This is all due to the rot from the Marxist/Socialist professor's pushing their own agenda's instead of actually teaching the STEM students anything of value, like thinking for themselves. Instead they are programmed, handed a worthless piece of paper called a diploma that they can now use to wallpaper their room. This rot began decades ago as witnessed by ACTUAL engineers that actually learned something in their years in college before everything spun out of control with woke BS and DEI mentality. I have it straight from the proverbial "horses mouth", a dear friend and genius in engineering, that the people that were coming into the fields that he worked as leader and supervisor, these newbies coming in at GE, Honeywell and NASA weren't worthy of the degrees that they claimed to have earned. They couldn't even handle the basic necessary Math let alone anything of complexity. This was and is still an enormous problem for America, that was planned to make us less able to compete on the world stage in Technology fields. It was ALL part of the plan to destroy this country and was well on its way to doing just that.

At this point we need to bring the best "brains" that we can find if we are to keep up, or at least not fall behind. Granted, the H1B visa problem needs to be looked at with a fine tooth comb and fixed from its present position of simply using people from other countries because they can be had cheaply. The misuse of the H1B visa program MUST be fixed and those misusing the system need to be fined and brought to Justice. Then we can bring in the best of the best to help continue our nation's moving forward.

Second, if not First, we need to remove those useless "professors" from within OUR education system regardless of "tenure". If they are corrupting the children then they need to go!!! THEY have hurt our nation more than ANY H1B visa recipient ever could. What THEY did was a purposeful move to help undermine OUR nations ability to remain cutting edge in the most important fields at the most important time as we move into the 5th Industrial Revolution which is based on technological advancements. Our students need to be brought up to where they once were, some of the best and the brightest in the world. Problem is that we need to revamp our education and remove the IDIOTS that control it now, starting with the Federal Dept. of Education immediately followed by destroying the power of the teacher's unions that have undermined out education system with BAD curricula for decades now, and they just keep doubling down on their stupid ideas that are supposedly helping fix the system but instead are destroying it.

So there you have my viewpoint, based on all the various things that I have read and researched over the past few weeks.

As for Musk and Ramaswamy fighting against Pres. Trump in this matter, don't be fooled by the rhetoric. These men KNOW how to shine the spotlight on the problem areas that we have and they are doing just that with this entire thing.

" open war " "a massive political battle" ?

Pure hyperbole. As gets noted further down this is a debate on X.

There are strong feelings and arguments on both sides but the debate is being held in public and neither side claims their interlocutors should be cancelled.

This is as it should be.

I find this fascinating as The "Right" went ballistic over the possibility of going to war in Syria and the backlash was harsh and swift against the Military Industrial Complex, but when it comes to H1-B Visas, they should have been against them even before Trump was originally due to Corporate welfare.
